David Campbell Prize

Each year the School of History may offer a prize known as the David Campbell Prize. The objective of the prize is to encourage students who show potential the field of Â鶹´«Ã½AV History.

The prize will be on offer annually.

The prize was established by Professor Manning Clark and commemorates the late David Campbell (1915-1979). David Campbell was an Â鶹´«Ã½AV poet who wrote over 15 volumes of prose and poetry.  Campbell frequently wrote for the Bulletin and was editor of poetry anthologies including the 1966 edition of Â鶹´«Ã½AV Poetry and in 1970 Modern Â鶹´«Ã½AV Poetry.  A recipient of several Â鶹´«Ã½AV literary awards, he was also a senior fellow (1973-76) of the Literature Board of the Australia Council for the Arts.
