Vice-Chancellor's Coursework Travel Bursary - Access and Equity
Access and Equity bursaries
The Vice-Chancellor provides funding through ANU Global Programs to assist coursework students who meet specified criteria to facilitate learning abroad, enrich their academic experience and enable them to undertake approved periods of overseas short-term and semester study. Students who meet the approved criteria outlined below may apply or be automatically considered where specified for a VC Coursework Travel Grant/Bursary of up to the specified amount.
Students who can demonstrate financial need and meet one or more of the criteria below may be eligible for an Access and Equity Bursary of up to AUD $7,000* for semester length study/Year in Asia, or up to AUD $3,000* for short course programs.
Where applications are necessary, these must be lodged and approved before the activity is undertaken.
Eligibility
To be eligible for support, students must be enrolled in a bachelor, Juris Doctor or master by coursework program and must:
- be an Â鶹´«Ã½AV domestic student; and
- be financially disadvantaged (confirmed through provision of a Centrelink Income Statement. For students who do not receive Centrelink, a parent's Centrelink Income Statement will also be considered).
- Have not previously recieved funding under the Vice Chancellor's Travel Bursary, Access and Equity category.
This may include students that also meet one or more of the following criteria:
- have a long-term health condition or disability and be registered with ANU Access and Inclusion
- be a recognised primary carer of a person with a disability and be registered with ANU Access and Inclusion
- be a holder of refugee status/Â鶹´«Ã½AV humanitarian visa
- be from a regional and remote background (confirmed through the )
- be the first in family to attend university (determined by information provided at enrolment)
Application Assessment
Amounts will be determined according to destination, forecasted expenses, criteria met and the overall VC Coursework Travel Grant/Bursary budget for that period. Students who have already received a VC Travel Bursary under the Access and Equity category are not eligible to receive a second bursary.
Applications will be accepted twice per year for semester length, Year in Asia and short course programs. Only students who have not yet started their learning abroad experience are eligible to apply. Students may provide their acceptance letter after the application deadline by contacting ANU Global Programs.
Application Dates
Applications for Summer 2025 and Semester 1, 2025 Exchange and Year in Asia are now OPEN and close Monday 21 October.
