ANU campus Uni Ave Vice-Chancellor confirms end-of-year shutdown dates

Last week, the Vice-Chancellor confirmed the end-of-year shutdown period for staff, from 24 December 2020 to 3 January 2021. In lieu of the Garden Party, Professor Schmidt has granted an additional day of ex gratia leave.

Improving situation in Australia
While we are still seeing cases of COVID-19 in Australia, the vast majority of cases are occurring in quarantine. On the first of this month, we reached a significant milestone with Australia reporting zero community transmissions of COVID-19 for the first time since 9 June. Travel around the country is also becoming easier as the situation in Victoria improves and borders are beginning to reopen.
