Taking part in Orientation Week (O-Week) will help you meet others, find your place on campus and prepare to start studying when the semester begins. 

Monday 12 February, 10-11am | University Avenue Lawns 

The ANU commencement address is the opening event for new students at ANU Orientation Week 2024. The 2024 keynote will be delivered by ANU alumna Ms Ashleigh Streeter-Jones. Registration is essential.   

Monday 12 February, 12.30pm-2pm | Cultural Centre Kambri 

The New Student Orientation is an induction for new students. You’ll learn more about what your first few weeks at ANU will look like.  

 

Monday 12 – Friday 16 February, 9am- 5pm | Marie Reay level 1 

Your student card is your official form of identification as a student at ANU. Student Central is holding a simple one-stop-shop collection service all week during Orientation Week. Here, you can line up to have your student card photo taken and receive your card in one central location.

Wednesday 14 February, 9am–3pm | University Avenue 

Are you into or a die-hard ? Come learn more about ANU and the clubs, societies, services and activities you can join. Registrations are not required, just wander down to University Avenue and Kambri on the day.  

Tuesday 13 - Friday 16 February | O-week information stall

Whether you are a new student or an existing student, come join the general tour of our ANU campus. In this walking tour, we will take you around some of the key areas of interest on campus. The tours are run at various times between Tuesday 13 February - Friday 16 February. 

The ANUOK is the official safety and well-being app for our ANU community. The app features include quick access to ANU Security, emergency information and current alerts, safety tools, a campus map and other personal support resources. All students should download the ANUOK App.  

 

 

Six exceptional members of the ANU community will head to the United States this year with prestigious  The cohort – one of the largest for ANU is recent years – includes researchers, professional staff and graduates from across the University.

Since 1949, the Fulbright Program has provided funding for close to 6,000 Â鶹´«Ã½AV and American students, scholars, and professionals to undertake impactful programs of study and collaborative research exchange. 

Lunar New Year celebrates the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year on the lunisolar calendar. 2024 is the Year of the Dragon and welcomes strength, power and success.

This is your last chance to see The Walkley Foundation 2023 Exhibition. ANU are excited and honoured to share this significant exhibition from some of Australia’s leading photojournalists from 2023. The exhibition will be on display until Wednesday 7 February.

Students should experience one of Canberra's most treasured events, the Lifeline Canberra’s Bookfair. 

Students and book lovers can find a wide range of textbooks, fiction and non-fiction books, comics, records and CDs, DVDs, games and more. 

Know someone in need of accommodation? 

Refer a friend to live on campus at ANU, and both of you could pocket $250 each.

As the referrer, you will receive $250 in your bank account, while the referee will enjoy a $250 credit towards their accommodation fees. Better yet, refer three friends and you get $1,000. 

Simply refer a current ANU student to apply to live in one of our on-campus residences using the form below. Your referred friend will receive a unique referral code for their ANU accommodation. 

ANU offers a number of to provide support with the University accommodation costs.  

 

In January 2020, ANU was hit by a catastrophic hailstorm, which caused significant damage to the University campus and its buildings. ANU is now undertaking a major hail remediation program to repair damage caused by the storm to more than 160 buildings across the University’s Acton campus.  

Hail remediation work for Llewellyn Hall will occur until May 2024, which will include a re-roofing, renewing the flooring in backstage rooms and installing a lighting upgrade. This transition to LED lights will help align Llewellyn Hall with the . 

Please note that Llewellyn Hall will be open for lectures from Weeks 1-4. 

The hail remediation works were strategically scheduled to stagger their completion, ensuring that the University maintains access to venues for events and large lectures. Following the completion of Llewellyn Hall, the Kambri Cultural Centre will undergo hail remediation work from June 2024 until January 2025.

ANU is thankful for the community’s understanding and patience as we work to make these repairs.

Apply now for the Special Industry Project (SIP) 

The Special Industry Project (SIP), a work-integrated learning course at the ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE), has contributed to solving business cases presented by organisations across Australia.  In Semester 1, 2024 take the credited SIP course and become a consultant for Aspen Medical while supporting change in the world of chronic disease care.
