This seminar explores the complex relationship between corporations and the environment, examining the role of government regulation, shareholder vs. stakeholder theories, and the potential for sustainable profit.
About the speaker
(Louie) is a Professor at the College of Law of the University of San Carlos in Cebu, Philippines. He finished his Master of Laws at the University of the Philippine College of Law and his Juris Doctor and Political Science degrees at the University of San Carlos. He teaches Philosophy of Law, Thesis Writing Proposal, Legal Research and Writing, and Administrative Law. He is also a partner of Cortez Villanueva San Pedro Law Offices, a full-service law firm based in Metro Manila. His research interest includes legal theory, constitutional law, local government and public corporations, corporate governance, and environmental law.
