[ON DEMAND] In conversation: Perspectives on Â鶹´«Ã½AV politics

Renowned historians Professor Frank Bongiorno and Professor Chris Wallace will be in conversation about perspectives on Â鶹´«Ã½AV politics.
 
The discussion will be based on their recent books:
  • by Professor Chris Wallace, which explores political lives and the intimate history of image-making, and image-breaking, in national politics.
  • by Professor Frank Bongiorno, on the social and cultural history of Australia's political life, from pre-settlement Indigenous systems to the present day.
This event is being held in association with Harry Hartog Bookshop.
 

About the speakers 

Professor Frank Bongiorno AM is a Professor of History at ANU and Distinguished Fellow of the Whitlam Institute, Western Sydney University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, and the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Academy of Humanities. Frank is the author of The Sex Lives of Â鶹´«Ã½AVs and The Eighties: The Decade That Transformed Australia and he has written for Nine Fairfax, The Monthly, The Saturday Paper, Inside Story and The Conversation.
 
Professor Chris Wallace is a political historian at the University of Canberra's Faculty of Business Government and Law, a Visiting Fellow at the ANU School of History and a proud ANU alum. She was formerly a longstanding member of the Canberra Press Gallery, and her political analysis and commentary currently appears in Nikkei Asia, the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Saturday Paper and The Conversation. Her fifth book, Political Lives: Â鶹´«Ã½AV prime ministers and their biographers, has just been published by UNSW Press.
