Choosing freedom in Ukraine
The ANU Centre for European Studies and the Embassy of Ukraine are pleased to invite you to a lecture by Dr Olesya Khromeychuk.
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has surprised the world with a unity and resilience that few expected. This surprise is due partly to a lack of understanding and appreciation of Ukraine's history, combined with the dominance of Russia's imperialistic narrative. Ukraine's multilingualism and multiculturalism, for example, have been often perceived as a source of division. A closer and more nuanced look at the history of this country and its people can help explain the origins of Ukraine's unity and strength.
